Dr. Stephen Loyd, Medical Director of JourneyPure’s services in Middle Tennessee, is scheduled to speak at the Nashville Health Care Council’s “LHC Lunch and Learn” event on Tuesday, March 26, 2019.
A nationally recognized thought leader and clinician, Dr. Loyd has decades of experience in internal medicine, mental health, and substance abuse services. His background includes service as Medical Director and Assistant Commissioner for Substance Abuse Services with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
In early 2018, Loyd was appointed to Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam’s Opioid Workgroup and Public Safety Subcabinet. He has been in long-term recovery from opioids and benzodiazepines since 2004.
“I believe JourneyPure’s clinical approach is right on target,” Loyd said. “By providing evidence-based treatments, along with dual-diagnosis to address co-occurring mental health issues, we can address the underlying issues that cause individuals to abuse substances.”
An initiative of the Nashville Health Care Council to nurture the talents of future leaders, LHC (Leadership Health Care) provides members with unique educational programs and networking opportunities. With a membership of nearly 800 up-and-coming healthcare industry leaders, LHC is the area’s foremost organization for emerging industry leaders in the field.
